Did David Ayer Just Reveal The Villain Of Gotham City Sirens?

Fresh off of his last film receiving some major recognition and his next project's trailer debuting, David Ayer is riding a wave.

The director of the Academy Award-winning film Suicide Squad already congratulated his makeup team for a job well done. And the trailer for his next film for Netflix, the Will Smith-starring Bright, debuted during the ceremonies.

Maybe he's feeling generous in the wake of the good news, because he might have just revealed the villain of his next DC Films project, the Harley Quinn/Catwoman/Poison Ivy team up called Gotham City Sirens.

Ayer just tweeted out a picture of the villain Roman Sionis, AKA Black Mask.

The picture in question comes from a 2006 storyline in the pages of Batman called Under the Red Hood, by Doug Mahnke, Shane Davis, Eric Battle, and former Real World: San Francisco reality show star Judd Winick.

In the pages of that comic, the resurrected Jason Todd returns to Gotham and wages war on Black Mask's criminal empire, killing many of his employees and causing Batman to interfere.

It could be a tease or it could be misdirection. But Ayer is known for being a social media participant, dropping hints about plot direction and character involvement for his last DC project.

We'll see as production seems to pick up steam for Gotham City Sirens. There's not yet a release date attached to the project.
