DC's 'Titans' To Feature A 'Young Justice' Villain

It looks like Titans is passing over Slade Wilson for its live-action debut. According to a new report, DC's Titans will use a Young Justice baddie as its main villain.

Earlier today, That Hashtag Show posted an article detailing the antagonist of Titans. The site reports that Acolyte will step in to challenge the Titans. A casting call recently went out for the series, and it gives a very brief description of Acolyte's plans. Specifically, here's what it said:

"The Acolyte – Male. African-American 40-50. Confident. The villain of our story. He is after Rachel and her powers, trying to kidnap her after he murders her mother."

The casting call also features a character description for a woman named Angela. The older lady will be Rachel's adoptive mom who gets killed (presumably by Acolyte) when the baddie tries to kidnap the girl.

If you're confused about Rachel, then you should know the name is a coded one for Raven. The heroine is named Rachel Roth in the comics, and she is the daughter of a human and a demon known as Trigon. Acolyte will be after the girl for some unknown reason.

Acolyte may not ring a bell with many fans, but he is rooted in the DC Universe. The character made his debut in Young Justice back in 1999. In the comics, Acolyte has a devilish appearance with blue skin and horns. There's never been a full investigation into Acolyte's backstory, but fans know he has some idiosyncrasies. Despite his horrifying visage, Acolyte appears to be little more than a human despite his claims to immortality. So, fans shouldn't be surprised if Titans tries to spruce up the villain's origins to make him more of a threat.
