Fan Compares DCEU Trinity To The Holy Trinity In New Infographic

With decades of history, passionate fanbases, and cultural recognition, the trio of Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman is a significant one. All three teamed up onscreen in last year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and are set to reunite in November's Justice League. And one DC fan is arguing that these onscreen portrayals have a rather god-like connection.

An image cirulating around on Twitter compares the fictional trilogy to another significant one - the Holy Trinity. The Christian belief consists of three figures - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And the infographic makes a pretty compelling case as to why the DC Extended Universe Trinity is similar.

Wonder Woman, whose solo film debuts this weekend, is seen as "The Mother". The fan argues that the Princess of Themyscira fits the role thanks to her significance in the origin of the DCEU, her "uncorrupted heroism", and her ability to unite both Batman and Superman, as well as the remaining members of the Justice League.

Batman, by contrast, is identified as the "Troubled Child" of the triumvirate. According to the fan, much of Batman's motivation is rooted in his role as a son - especially following his parents' death.

The final member of the trio, Superman, is seen as the "Holy Spirit." This is justified by the significance of his role as a symbol in society. The fan puts it simply by saying that the Son of Krypton is "a symbol for what might be."

You can check out the infographic below. While the exact origin of this infographic is currently unkown, it certainly provides a deeper reading for fans of the DCEU.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, based on a story by Snyder and Terrio, and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
