Did Bane Kill [Spoilers] In Batman #16?

02/03/2017 02:19 pm EST

There were always going to be repercussions for Batman and his allies after their break-in to Bane's compound, and Bane didn't wait long to make an impression.

Spoilers incoming for Batman #16, so if you haven't read it you've been warned.

Knowing that Bane will be coming for the Psycho Pirate eventually, Bruce goes about telling his allies, namely Damian Wayne, Jason Todd, Dick Grayson, and Duke Thomas to make themselves scarce. Granted, only one, in particular, heeds the advice, but the point remains that Bruce is not risking anyone's neck on this but his.

Bruce extracted Pshycho Pirate from Bane's headquarters for one reason, which was to restore Gotham Girl's sanity. He needs 5 days to do so, but Bane is not waiting to recover his prize. As the Batman and Alfred walk Gotham Girl to the Batcave, they discover three hanging bodies with nooses around their necks and their costumes shredded. I AM BANE is scrawled in red across their chests, and it happens to be the three allies that did not heed Bruce's warning, those being Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood.

Bane will go to any lengths to get back the Psycho Pirate, as it is the only way he can stave off the pain of being off the venom. It also doesn't help that Batman and Catwoman left him powerless on the floor in their last meeting either, so it's not like he is their biggest fan.

You can read the official description of the issue below, and make sure to check out a few spoiler images in the gallery.
