The episode begins with Clive meeting with Cavanagh. Cavanagh explains that Clive was listed as Wally's emergency contact in the years past, which makes Cavanagh question Clive's conflict of interests in the case.

In a flashback, Clive and Wally casually meet in the apartment hallway. Cavanagh questions the true nature of Clive and Wally's relationship, and uncovers a family photo of Clive, Wally, and Wally's mom, Anna.

Four days earlier, Ravi leads Cavanagh through the results of Wally's family's bodies. Cavanagh question's Wally's father's relationship to Max Rager, since a can of it was found in his pocket. Ravi then shows Cavanagh Wally's body.

In the present day, Clive explains that he was sucked into the drama of Wally's family while living next door.

In a flashback, Clive is shown intervening with Wally's family after Wally's dad begins assaulting them.

Clive tells Liv that they should work their private investigation into Filmore Graves carefully, so they don't catch Cavanagh's eye.

A dad and daughter sit at a stop light, fighting. Their car is violently hit and flipped upside down.

Liv, Ravi, and Clive arrive at the scene of the car accident. Liv realizes that she and Major haven't eaten brains in a while, and they should use the two brains from this accident.

Back in the morgue office, Liv cooks the brains into chili, while Clive and Ravi watch. Major arrives and the pair determine what brain to eat. Clive suggests that Major eat the teenage daughter's brain, and he reluctantly agrees. Major explains that he's one step closer to finding Natalie, and he now has a phone number that could help him find her.

Major and Ravi debate whether or not to call the phone number. Ravi then reveals that Peyton wants to 'talk' to him, and Major reacts very dramatically, as the teenage brains are starting to hit.

Major jams out in the morgue to Katy Perry, before Liv and Clive walk in. Liv scolds Major for having the music so loud. Clive explains that they found nothing at the bank. Major leaves for mercenary training.

In the locker room after mercenary training, Major talks to the other trainees. He takes out his phone to show them selfies, and triggers a vision - Cindy showing her dad a photo that needs to be taken to the authorities.

Clive explains that the photo in the vision was from Winslow, a contact in her phone. The team determines how to see the picture in question, and attempts to trigger a vision with Liv. It doesn't work.

A hacker arrives, and Clive hands him the remains of Cindy's phone, asking him to extract images from it.

Clive and Liv meet with Vivian, and ask her about Wally's family's murders. They interview people throughout Filmore Graves.

Cavanagh asks about Clive and Anna's relationship while Wally's father was in jail. In a flashback, Anna asks Clive to babysit Wally. He agrees. Clive and Wally binge-watch Game of Thrones. Anna arrives and chastizes Clive for letting Wally watch the show. She then breaks and says that she's not really mad at him for it.

Clive and Liv interview Cindy's friend, Winslow. Although Clive has potential evidence, Winslow assures that she didn't murder Cindy and Stan, because she doesn't have a license. Major criticizes Clive for interrogating the friend, and he and Liv argue. This triggers a vision for Liv, of the images off of Cindy's phone - Winslow in bed with an older man. Liv asks Winslow about it, but then she leaves with the older man - her stepfather, Ken.

Clive criticizes Major for interrupting the interrogation. Liv reveals what she saw in Stan's vision. They determine that the relationship between the friend and Winslow's stepfather could've been motive for the murder.

Clive and Liv arrive at Winslow's stepfather's work - at a nursery. They question him, before Winslow's mom, Tori, intervenes. Clive issues a warrant for Winslow's phone, and she hands it over.

Liv sharpens her medical examiner tools in the morgue. Ravi explains that he's worried about his and Peyton's relationship. Liv tells him not to worry, and to just be honest with Peyton. Clive arrives and reveals that Winslow was previously arrested for driving without a license.

Clive calls a judge and asks if he can issue a warrant to get Winslow away from Ken.

In a flashback, Wally watches Clive prepare dinner. Clive and Anna talk, and she explains that she wants to move in with her brother soon to avoid her husband when he gets out of prison. Clive asks them to keep staying next door, and the pair almost kiss.

Clive is approached by Tori and Winslow, and explains that Ken killed Cindy and Stan. Winslow reveals that she told Cindy about her and Ken's relationship after Ken had broken it off. Winslow is still unsure how Ken knew that Cindy and Stan wanted to go to the police.

The hacker comes in and gives Clive the final texts between Cindy and Winslow. Clive reads the messages out loud, and still questions how Ken knew that Stan wanted to go to the police.

Clive returns into the interrogation room, and reveals that someone had put a secret spying app on Winslow's phone. Liv calls the number attached to it - and Tori's phone rings. She confesses that she killed Cindy and Stan to keep the affair a secret.

Clive tells Liv that Winslow will be staying with family, and that they put an APB out on Ken. Ravi comes in, telling Clive and Liv to listen to a clip from the Chuck Burd show. They listen as a caller reveals that he found tubes of brains in his neighbor's dumpster - exactly like the kind used by mercenaries at Filmore Graves.

Clive determines that the caller was a neighbor of Wally and his family. Clive and Liv go to his house and confront him. The neighbor reveals that he posted about Wally's family on a conspiracy theory message board, which could have led to Wally's family being murdered.

Clive and Liv show Vivian the message board. Vivian worries that the zombie war might break out sooner than she thought. Clive receives a phone call that someone had found Ken.

Clive turns Ken in at the station. Ken tries to leave, but Clive restrains him and has him escorted out. Clive is then greeted by Cavanagh.

Cavanagh asks when Clive had last seen Wally and Anna. He explains that Clive got in too deep with his undercover case to protect Wally and Anna, and they left right around the time that Rick was released from prison, and wrote a letter about how they were afraid to stay in touch. Clive reveals that he got the letter two months ago, and Cavanagh wonders what would've happened if Clive had been able to protect them.
