New Look At J.K. Simmons As Commissioner Gordon In Justice League

The new Batman themed Justice League teaser trailer featured not only new looks at Batman's Batmobile, fighting parademons, and the tactical Batsuit but also slipped a glimpse of J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon into the tease.

The quick glimpse, captured in a photo seen in the gallery at the bottom of this article, is J.K. Simmons' first day on set as the character. Gordon is standing atop the Gotham City Police Department, Bat-signal shining brightly into the sky, as he waits for Batman and some of his super friends to show up.

As seen during ComicBook.com's visit to the set of Justice League for Simmons' first day, Batman arrives with Wonder Woman and The Flash to talk with Gordon. The characters have a conversation about a nest of parademons just off of the city's shore and Cyborg joins the party late, to the satisfaction of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.

It's clear that Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince have been recruiting fellow heroes to this point, with Barry Allen having jumped on board their Justice League plans quickly and Cyborg likely being reluctant in his invitation and showing up here as a sign of acceptance. Still, Aquaman hasn't shown up to the party by this point.

From here, the team realizes they need to use one of Batman's specialty vehicles to enter the parademon nest on Striker Island. Batman and Wonder Woman quickly disappear when Gordon is not looking, to which Barry jokes that they are "rude" before speeding off himself.

The action sequence which follows promises to be an explosive affair in a Gotham City ventilation tower as Batman's Nightcrawler vehicle guides the team through underground tunnels, spewing flames at parademons and eventually carrying them to the center of its nest for battle.
