New Details About The Time Frame For 'Justice League' Emerge

With September around the corner, fans are counting down the days until Justice League comes out. The ensemble flick is slated to premiere come November, and details about the film are being made public with every passing day. And, now, it looks like the time frame for Justice League has been passed along to fans.

Total Film's latest issue hit shelves recently, and the hefty edition includes a piece about Justice League. The feature article rehashes plenty of well-known information about the film, but one new tidbit has caught the attention of fans.

According to Cosmic Book News, Total Film gives a description of when Justice League is set. The magazine describes Justice League as a "direct sequel" to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The magazine also says the movie will begin with Superman in the grave after sacrificing himself during the battle against Doomsday. Batman and Wonder Woman will are gathered in mourning before Steppenwolf makes himself known, leaving the duo to team up with other enhanced heroes.

Of course, it is no surprising to hear that Justice League will be set after Batman v Superman. The DC Extended Universe is expected to operate in chronological order for the time being, and its films have all been building up to Justice League. Suicide Squad took steps to introduce Bruce's plans of a superhero team, and it even debuted Ezra Miller as the Flash. Wonder Woman also helped place Diana Prince's place as the hero was last seen working in France.

Thanks to Total Film's write-up, fans may assume Justice League will take place soon after Batman v Superman ends, but that is not necessarily the case. Wonder Woman indicates there's been a passage of time between the two films. Diana is seen working to restore art in France. Bruce sends Wonder Woman the original photo she was looking for in Batman v Superman. The gift prompts the heroine to reminisce about her past and set up the frame narrative for Wonder Woman. The film ends with Diana back in Paris where she sends an email thanking Bruce, but Justice League will likely meet up with the heroine abroad.

After all, the trailers for Justice League appear to show Wonder Woman at work in Paris. Footage of the hero rescuing hostages from a museum is included in the upcoming film's trailers, so it seems like something will have to happen to prompt Wonder Woman's reunion with Batman. The heroine may learn of Steppenwolf's appearance on Themyscira through some unknown means and lead her to warn Bruce Wayne about the threat.
