Legends Of Tomorrow: Amaya Will Return In Season 3

While fans still have a bit of a wait until Legends of Tomorrow returns to their TV screens, they just received a bit of good news. One of the Waverider's current residents, whose fate seemed uncertain nearing the season's end, will be returning in the show's third season.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), a.k.a. Vixen, will be sticking around for Legends of Tomorrow's third season. In their weekly 'Spoiler Room' segment, the site revealed that Richardson-Sellers will still remain a cast member for Legends.

"Fear not, despite not being explicitly mentioned in the logline for season 3, Maisie Richardson-Sellers will be back as a series regular next season."

This was essentially assumed by some of the show's viewers, especially considering the cliffhanger that the third season will pick up it. With the Legends - and Amaya - currently stranded in a 'broken time', it's safe to presume that fixing their reality will be a prerogative for the first portion of the season, meaning that it wouldn't make sense for any of the Legends to depart the show before the premiere episode. In addition, Amaya is present on the recently-released first poster for Legends' third season, leading many to assume that she will be staying with the team.

Amaya has risen to be a fan-favorite character during Legends' second season, although her fate in the DCTV universe has not always been certain. Some wondered if she would depart from the show in the back end of the sophomore season, thanks to both her desire to fix her personal timeline (and ensure the birth of the current Vixen, Mari McCabe) and her quickly-retconned death at the hands of Leonard Snart.

Given all she has gone through to ensure her fate, it's welcomed news that Amaya's story isn't finished yet.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow returns in the fall, airing on Tuesday nights at 9/8c following The Flash.

After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms – a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question. With the Time Bureau effectively the new sheriffs in town, the Legends disband – until Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) discovers one of them in the middle of his well-deserved vacation in Aruba. Seeing this as an opportunity to continue their time travelling heroics, Sara (Caity Lotz) wastes no time in getting the Legends back together.

We reunite with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nick Heywood (Nick Zano), and Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson "Jax" Jackson (Franz Drameh), who together form the meta-human Firestorm. Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau's authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau's capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.
