LEGO Batman Reveals Why He Got His Own Movie In New Featurette

You might think that the LEGO Batman Movie is here because you, the fans, went and said how much you loved the original LEGO Movie. To hear Batman tell it, though, that's not how it went down.

In the latest featurette from the film, LEGO Batman reveals that he was the breakout star of the LEGO movie. Being the giver that he is, the LEGO Batman Movie is a way to give the fans waht they could only dream of once upon a time, and that is more of him.

So if you thought his ego somehow got smaller since last time, you'd be wrong.

Other highlights include Joker's rant on how they go together like donuts and coffee, Robin wearing his costume under his regular clothes (including boots), and the fact that Batman won't help poor Alfred catch that flying bat. Self-awareness Bruce, seriously.

You can watch the entire featurette in the video above.

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker's hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

The LEGO Batman Movie is directed by Chris McKay and is written by Seth Grahame-Smith, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers, with additional screenplay help from Jared Stern and John Whittington.

The LEGO Batman Movie stars Will Arnett (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Michael Cera (Robin/Dick Grayson), Ralph Fiennes (Alfred Pennyworth), Zach Galifianakis (The Joker), Jenny Slate (Harley Quinn), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl/Barbara Gordon), Billy Dee Williams (Two-Face), and Mariah Carey (Mayor McCaskill). Will Alegra, Ryan Harris, Brad Lewis, John Powers Middleton, and Zareh Nalbandian are executive producing, while Ryan Halprin, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Andrea McCarthy Paul are serving as producers.

The LEGO Batman Movie hits theaters on February 10, 2017.
