New Plot Details For Wonder Woman Revealed

Wonder Woman is hitting US theaters this June, but there still isn't much known about the world's first female superhero movie.

The first trailer for the film - along with a short plot synopsis - has offered little detail. We know that Ares will become the main villain, and that Wonder Woman will leave her Amazon homeland to put a stop to World War II.

In a recent interview, one of the film's actors offered a little more insight into her quest during throughout the movie, and the kind of soldiers she enlists to help her.

On Friday, we shared a quote from actor Ewen Bremner regarding his role in the film. When speaking with with DigitalSpy, he let everyone know he was a shell-shocked soldier fighting alongside Wonder Woman.

Upon further investigation however, his quote also reveals some unknown plot details. Take a look at his quote again:

"I play a character who's enlisted by Wonder Woman to help save the world as part of a small, unlikely band," he teased. "He's a shellshocked soldier who's been discharged from the war and is brought back to help on a secret mission."

If you remember the photo of Wonder Woman with the group of soldiers, Bremner can be seen on the far right. The description he gives here lets fans know a couple of things.

First off, Wonder Woman won't have a ton of help. It seems like she will be choosing from an island of misfit toys - and not with any single world power. There's a possibility that the big players in the War may not trust the princess.

The other thing we learn is that Wonder Woman will use a select few for big things. She is going to take characters like this, and use them to turn the tide of the war. It's even possible that these soldiers could end up fighting Ares later on.

Bremner is no stranger to war films, as he previously starred alongside Ben Affleck in Pearl Harbor, and next to Tom Hardy in Black Hawk Down.

The actor is currently doing press rounds promoting his new film T2 Trainspotting.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is written by Allan Heinberg, Geoff Johns, and Zack Snyder. The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).

The DCEU continues with Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
