Stephen Amell Reveals Scary Moment And Panic From American Ninja Warrior

It doesn't look like there's much Stephen Amell can't do. The actor has become well known on CW's Arrow, in part because of his incredible physique and training habits. As a result, Amell has not only won a WWE match, but now has conquered the American Ninja Warrior course.

Airing during NBC's Red Nose Day special, the star of Arrow took on the course with ease, completing its first stage in impressive time. However, after completing the first obstacle, Amell had a serious scare. Speaking to a packed crowd at Heroes & Villains FanFest in London over the weekend, Amell walked fans through his experience on the American Ninja Warrior course which turned out to be scary for a moment.

"Ninja Warrior was great," Amell said. "I got pretty far but after the second obstacle, you'll see me before the third obstacle, going like that to my arm. It's because I thought I tore my biceps off of the bone in the second obstacle. I couldn't feel anything from there to there. I think, all things considered, it went pretty well."

"I made it as far as I thought I could go," Amell said. Amell's impressive run through the course can be seen in the video at the top of the page.

Fortunately, the scare was just that and Amell's arm is okay. Amell is in peak physical shape, making his completion of the course do-able, but he is quick to admit that much of the journey is mental.

"When you see it, they put everything over water," Amell said. "If you want to know what that's like, walk across a balance beam that's two inches off the ground but it's solid ground underneath you. You'll zip across it. You won't even think about it. Do the exact same thing, the exact same width, over water, and you'll panic immediately because you think you're gonna fall in."

On obstacle had Amell particularly worried, but every fan knows it was never going to be the salmon ladder. "I was worried about the blocks that rotate when you run past them because they say, 'Don't worry if they're tilted off to the side or if they're level. Just hit the middle and go as fast as you can,'" Amell said. "What you get is a great idea, except when they're tiltedthe wrong way and they're over water!'"
