Lena Luthor Struggles With Guilt in 'Supergirl' Season 3

Lena Luthor may have helped save the day in Supergirl's season two finale, but the effects of it will be weighing pretty heavily on her.

Katie McGrath, who plays Lena on The CW's series, recently addressed her character's Season 3 arc in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. And as she revealed, Lena will feel guilty about her initial alliance with Rhea (Teri Hatcher) - and how it ended up costing Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) her relationship with Mon-El (Chris Wood).

"While Lena's feeling good that she helped saved the world," McGrath explained, "she feels very responsible that her best friend is hurting. And she's trying to bring Kara back to the friendship that they had."

McGrath also hinted that Lena - who will now be in a series regular role in the upcoming season - will try to remedy her relationship with Kara by doing "something very big" in the season three premiere. And judging by recent comments from showrunner Andrew Kreisberg, the gesture might work, as Lena and Kara are expected to go on more adventures in Season 3.

"Lena and Kara's friendship will continue to grow." Kreisberg revealed. "There's a lot of Lena-Kara adventures early on in this season."

Fans will get to see what's next for Lena when Supergirl premieres Monday, October 9th, at 8/7c, on The CW.
