The Flash Season 4 Premiere Photos Released

The CW has released their preview photos for "The Flash Reborn," October's season 4 premiere of The Flash.

The episode picks up six months after Barry Allen disappeared at the end of season 3; the hero has been stranded inside the Speed Force for all that time, and when he comes out, things will be disorienting for him.

"He's going to have kind of an awakening when he comes out," series star Grant Gustin told ComicBook.com. "He's going to have some knowledge that he probably doesn't even quite understand yet. He'll also be little scrambled; He won't really be himself the first time we see him."

That should not be much of a surprise: time does not pass the same way inside the Speed Force as it does for the rest of us -- and six months (real time) is a hell of a long time to be there.

"We're not necessarily going to see Barry's experience in the Speed Force," Gustin explained. "We'll see kind of the effects that the Speed Force has had on Barry, and he's been in there six months real-time. I suspect the Speed Force is kind of nonlinear with time, so Barry has experienced his entire life from start to end infinity times over since he's been in there."

You can check the photos out in the attached image gallery. Expect more sneak previews at the upcoming season, as well as new seasons of Arrow, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, soon.

The Flash returns with new episodes starting October 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
