'Wonder Woman' to Pass 'Iron Man 3', Enter Top Twenty Highest-Grossing Movies Ever

Captain America is no match for Diana Prince and she's coming for Iron Man next.
Wonder Woman passed Captain America: Civil War and is almost certain to pass Iron Man 3 on Monday based on weekend box office receipts reported by Box Office Mojo.
With almost $409 million in earnings Wonder Woman is among the top twenty highest grossing movies at all time in domestic box office take and will make it the fifth highest grossing super movie ever. Only the two Avengers movie and two Batman films — The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises — have performed better.
This latest achievement reinforces Wonder Woman's status as a massive success for the DC Extended Universe. The film has earned over $800 million at the worldwide box office and is the most successful superhero origin film ever. Twitter Data also recently crowned Wonder Woman the top blockbuster of the summer and there has even been Oscar buzz surrounding the film. A sequel is already in the works with Wonder Woman 2 set for a 2019 release date.
