Wonder Woman Director Doesn't Want Film Compared To Joss Whedon's Script

Joss Whedon is now part of the DCEU, but some are still focused on his past Wonder Woman script, something that Patty Jenkins feels needs to be put to rest.

Whedon's take on the film made its way online in recent months and has been unfavorably compared to Jenkins' version. As she told BuzzFeed, there really is no reason to compare to the two.

"He's in the DC universe now, and I don't think there's any reason to go there. It was what it was. I'm lucky that I'm the person who got to do it. But I don't see what would be beneficial about comparing what he would've done versus what I would have done."

Whedon's version ultimately got shelved, which included Strife as the primary villain as opposed to Ares and a different sort of relationship for Trevor and Diana. Ultimately it no longer matters, as Wonder Woman has finally received the box office throne she deserves, surpassing DC's own Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice domestically.

Whedon is knee deep in Justice League currently, as he recently stepped in for Zack Snyder. He was already part of the DCEU thanks to his upcoming Batgirl project, which is rumored to be based on the New 52 version of the character.

You can find the official synopsis for Wonder Woman below. The film currently has an 86.82 on ComicBook.com's composite rankings.

Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, Princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is written by Allan Heinberg, Geoff Johns, and Zack Snyder. The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
