2017 will prove whether or not DC Films has learned from mistakes of the past, as Wonder Woman and then Justice League will be released, in attempt to show fans a lighter and more heroic evolution of the DC Extended Universe.

With Wonder Woman arriving earlier in the year, a lot of focus is currently on that film, and its adaptation of the most iconic female superhero of all time. The first Wonder Woman trailers have impressed, and now we have a new image to analyze.

Released by Warner Bros. as part of a Time piece on Wonder Woman's turbulent place in the zeitgeist (and recent U.N. controversy), the photo depicts the prelude to an exciting scene glimpsed in trailers - as well as the first ever footage debuted from the film.

The scene in question sees Diana/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) on horseback moving along the European countryside with Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), and her ride-or-die squad. Trailers have shown that things don't stay this serene and peaceful for long; there group is either ambushed or otherwise gets snared in a battle, which leads to Diana displaying her Amazon prowess, taking out enemies with her sword while riding on horseback.

DC movie critics will probably appreciate the more vibrant color palette in the image - and really, the more vibrant color palette of the whole movie. Visually speaking, things look pretty on point; let's hope they play that way onscreen.
