Wonder Woman Receives Official Rating

In a handful of months, the DC Extended Universe will welcome a long-awaited origin flick to its repertoire. Following the commercial success of Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman will make its way into theaters this June. The period blockbuster will follow Gal Gadot as she explores the origins of Wonder Woman and how the heroine became one of the fiercest warriors to ever defend earth. And, now, fans know just what kind of rating Wonder Woman will have.

Not long ago, the Motion Pictures Association of America released its latest batch of film ratings. The memo included the rating for Wonder Woman, and fans know the film has been categorized at PG-13. The movie was rated as such for "sequences of violence and action, and some suggestive content."

Of course, Wonder Woman is not the only PG-13 superhero film to debut recently. Doctor Strange made its way into theaters with the rating alongside Suicide Squad and even Batman v Superman. However, plenty of other superhero films have started to embrace a more racy rating. Logan and Deadpool notably entered cinemas with R-ratings and quickly garnered all kinds of box office success.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is written by Allan Heinberg, Geoff Johns, and Zack Snyder. The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
