Wonder Woman screenwriter Allan Heinberg is giving thanks for his chance to be involved with the film.

On Twitter, Heinberg shared the cover to the first comic book he ever read, Wonder Woman #212, and thanked several of the other creators who were integral and landing him the job of co-writing the Wonder Woman movie script.

"My first comic," Heinberg wrote. "43 years later, I got to work on the movie, thanks to [Patty Jenkins], [Geoff Johns], [Zack Snyder], [Jon Berg] & [Shonda Rhimes]. Xx"

Jenkins is the director of Wonder Woman. Johns and Berg co-run DC Films, in addition to Johns being the president and chief creative officer of DC Comics. Zack Snyder is one of the producers of Wonder Woman and directed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the film in which Gal Gadot first appeared as Wonder Woman. Rhimes is not directly involved with Wonder Woman, but Heinberg has worked on her ABC television series Grey's Anatomy and Scandal.

Heinberg's history writing Wonder Woman goes back much further than the Wonder Woman movie screenplay. Heinberg wrote the Wonder Woman comic book series when it relaunched in 2006. He also served as executive producer on The CW's 2012 pilot for Amazon, a Wonder Woman television series that was not picked up to series.
