Yesterday, the comic book fandom was thrown for a loop when news broke about Zack Snyder's future involvement with Justice League. The director announced he was stepping down from the movie, allowing Joss Whedon to fill in as director while the film finishes post-production. In a touching revelation, Snyder revealed both he and his wife Deborah were stepping away from work to focus on his family following the tragic death of his daughter. And, now, Snyder has spoken out to thank the entertainment industry for its outpouring of support.

Taking to Twitter, Snyder posted a short message online to thank everyone who has reached out to him.

"Thanks for the outpouring of support. I can't express how much it means to Debbie & I and Autumn's mother, Denise, at such a difficult time," the director wrote.

Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter broke the shocking news to fans worldwide.

"In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was way through it," Snyder told press about his return to Justice League following his daughter's suicide.

"The demands of this job are pretty intense. It is all consuming. And in the last two months I've come to the realization...I've decided to take a step back from the movie to be with my family, be with my kids, who really need me. They are all having a hard time. I'm having a hard time."

"I want the movie to be amazing and I'm a fan, but that all pales pretty quickly in comparison," he continued. "I know the fans are going to be worried about the movie but there are seven other kids that need me," Snyder admitted. " In the end, it's just a movie. It's a great movie. But it's just a movie."

Since Snyder's revelation went public, the Internet has flooded the director with support during this difficult time. Friends like James Gunn, Gal Gadot, and Geoff Johns took to social media to provide words of comfort to Snyder. As for fans, DC diehards rallied behind the DCEU visionary and looked for ways to support the family from afar.

Here at ComicBook, our thoughts and well wishes are with the Snyder family during this time.
