5 Cosmic Characters To Add to the MCU After Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Nova

If you're a fan of Marvel's cosmic books, chances are this is a refrain you're familiar with: We want Nova! Sure, we got a version of the Nova Corps in the first Guardians film, but nothing can replace the two main human members, Richard Ryder and Sam Alexander.

Ryder is the consumate "never give up" kind of character - think of him essentially as Captain America with Green Lantern's powers and you have a pretty good idea in your head. He's been depicted as either the best of the Novas, or even the last of the Novas, holding in all the power they harness on his own, a nearly impossible task.

Sam, meanwhile, is one of the newest to wear the helmet of Nova, and could be a great way to give us a next generation of heroes on the big screen. Less sure of himself, but no less determined to help, he'd make a great addition to the MCU landscape.

Quasar

This name refers to a couple of characters, most commonly Wendell Vaughn, and later Phyla-Vell, the daughter of the original Captain Marvel, and honestly either one would be a great addition to the MCU. Wendell is an Earthling, who uses the cosmic weapons the "Quantum Bands" to access his abilities. He becomes the annointed Protector of the Universe, a pretty good guy to have around in a fight.

Phyla, meanwhile, could be a fun addition, especially to play off the incoming Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers. A rival for her title, Phyla would also give us a bonafide Kree hero, and has powers outside of those the Quantum Bands give her.

Moondragon

Okay, yes, the "bald alien badass female" character quotient is higher in science fiction than most genres, but Moondragon would still make a great addition to the MCU, if only for her complex history of romantic entaglements that include Thor, Quasar, and Phyla. Her powers are fun, and needed in the MCU as they tend to be applied to mutant characters (who can't be used there), with telepathy, telekinesis, plus smarts and martial arts mastery. She's been an Avenger, and fought against Thanos. Sounds like MCU material to us.

Noh-Varr

One of the weirder cosmic characters, Noh-Varr is also known as Marvel Boy, and he's from a parallel universe. The character, a younger alien hero of the Kree, has a fairly standard power set (flight, speed, strength, endurance, reflexes), as well as the ability to make himself not feel pain. He's a master of Kree weaponry, too, and could bring a little of that brand of science fiction into the MCU. He's also a bit of an arrogant prick at times, and hey, just ask Tony and Stephen if those work in this universe.

Adam Warlock!

Yes, he was tops of that other list, too, but Adam Warlock is a must add to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Luckily with the addition of Ayesha, the door is wide-open for the character to join the cosmic corners of this world.

Warlock is so necessary because he's a lynchpin in the Marvel Cosmic universe... in basically every major story, including Infinity Gauntlet. Yes, that "Infinity." In fact, Warlock is typically in possession of the Soul Stone, the final Infinity Stone that hasn't yet been seen in the MCU. The character also has a darkside, the Magus, who could actually be a great next big bad after Thanos is vanquished in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War.
