New Posters Ask What If Agents Of SHIELD Was Agents Of HYDRA

03/14/2017 01:14 pm EDT

Welcome to the a parallel universe where Captain America is evil, the Guardians of the Galaxy are popular, and the Agents of HYDRA repeatedly save the world.

Well, at least one of those things is false, but that's what the latest slate of episodes in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will explore in the coming weeks as the squad enters the alternate universe called the Framework.

A mix of magic and technology—thanks to the LMD madman Dr. Holden Radcliffe and his use of the Darkhold—the Framework is a simulated experience in which the user can correct their biggest regrets in life when they enter. This generally results in a drastic change in the users life or personality, creating a vastly different world.

When Daisy Johnson and Jemma Simmons enter this parallel reality to rescue their colleagues at the end of the last pod, they find huge changes in their lives: Daisy is romantically linked to a still-living Grant Ward and Simmons is, well, dead.

But the biggest change in reality comes is that SHIELD has been replaced and HYDRA rules the world.

The last pod of season four, Agents of HYDRA, is being promoted in anticipation of the show's upcoming return, and the Agents of SHIELD social media channels are playing a game of 'What If?' to celebrate.

Check out all of the posters reimagined as if they took place within the Framework, and get ready to see a darker side to your favorite characters when the Agents of HYDRA return to ABC on Tuesday, April 4.
