New Rumors About Agents Of SHIELD's HYDRA Arc Detailed

Details of the upcoming slate of Agents of SHIELD episodes have been pretty scarce.

We knew a lot of the storyline would take place in the parallel reality known as the Framework, that this reality would exist under HYDRA rule, and that Daisy Johnson would be in a relationship with a still-alive Grant Ward.

But aside from all that, nothing. We didn't even know any of these details, or that the 'pod' of episodes would be called Agents of HYDRA, until the closing moments of the last episode!

Agents of SHIELD's fourth season has been full of surprises. But now, maybe some of those surprises have been revealed.

TV Line has unveiled a spoilery tidbit as a part of their latest mailbag answering, in which they gleaned from their discussion with showrunner Jed Whedon before the show's lengthy and insufferable hiatus.

Whedon said that Director Mace "would be in there somewhere," as we suspected he could be, and that Ward might not be the only familiar long-dead face we'll see in the Framework.

Could this point to the rumors of BJ Britt's return as Agent Triplett being true? Or maybe Coulson has settled into a life with his dearly departed Rosalind, who was cruelly murdered by Ward in previous episodes?

There are a lot of possibilities, but being able to find out more about Director Mace is a plus. Even if it's all in the confines of a simulated reality.

We'll find out more when Agents of SHIELD, or Agents of HYDRA, returns on April 4.
