Iron Man's Infinity War Armor Details
As you can see in the pictures above, the armor that Tony Stark will don for Infinity War seems to be able to shape-shift (so to speak) to create all kinds of blasters and energy weapons, as well as possessing bug-like wing flaps on the back.
Given the armor's abilities being displayed here, and the overall aesthetic of the suit, it seems pretty clear that this is based on the "Model Prime Armor" armor design.
What Is Model Prime?
The Model Prime armor was something that Tony Stark designed after high school student (and future inheritor of the Iron Man mantle) Riri Williams cracked the code of reverse-engineering Stark's Iron Man designs.
After taking some time in isolation, Tony made a big technological jump with his Model Prime Design; the armor's final design made it an all-in-one Swiss Army Knife-type of weapon, able to use nanotech and a shifting-scale body design to reconfigure into any number of weapons of tools - including anything from Stark's entire lineup of previous armor designs (Hulkbuster, stealth, orbital flight, etc.).
The suit is linked to Tony's brain synapses so that it can literally respond to commands with the speed of thought, and can achieve high speed and altitude flight within seconds. More importantly, it's resistant to all sorts of high-powered attacks, including massive energy blasts, sonic or electromagnetic attacks.
Fans have expected the Moden Prime Armor to appear in Avengers: Infinity War - just one of many suspected costume changes that the Avengers superheroes will be given. The artwork also gives us another look at Spider-Man's new Infinity War suit, and recent set photos have revealed that Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye is also in for a big change in appearance.
Avengers: Infinity War will be in theaters on May 3, 2018. Avengers 4 is currently in production.
