Marvel Studios is pursuing two female writers with Disney pedigrees to pen the script for Captain Marvel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman, who currently writes Gamora for Marvel Comics, will be joined by Meg LeFauve, who worked on Disney/Pixar's upcoming Inside Out.
At numerous press events over the weekend, Marvel Studios honcho Kevin Feige said that while Captain Marvel was still in early days in terms of casting or finding a filmmaker, the studio was very close to naming writers.
Apparently, the pair had each submitted separate takes on the character but are being combined into a writing team by Marvel, who were impressed by both takes enough to want to retain elements of each.
