Comic fans around the world just received the shock of a lifetime, as it was just revealed that Oscar-nominated actor Josh Brolin was given the role of Cable in Deadpool 2. Not only that, but Brolin as signed a four-film contract, that will extend through the X-Force films.

No one saw this coming, as many other names were mentioned. Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon, and a slew of others were rumored for the role, but Brolin snatched the part away.

Not only are fans in love with this casting, but those involved with the Deadpool franchise are also excited. Stefan Kapicic - who voices Colossus in both Deadpool films - wasn't shy about his thoughts when speaking with ComicBook.com about the casting.

"I'm so excited about this casting, it's the perfect casting for Cable. I'm a huge fan of Josh Brolin's work. He's an awesome actor and I'm totally excited to start working with him. It's gonna be an amazing road for the X-Force movies, having someone like Josh brolin to lead the franchise. Cable is one of my favorite characters and this is really something I was hoping for.

"He's an unbelievable actor and a perfect cable. I think Fox made a perfect choice with Josh Brolin and I think that's the spice we need for a sequel for Deadpool. Everything else about the movie was perfect, and this was the only missing piece that we now have. I'm so proud to be a part of this cast."

Kapicic is a longtime comic fan, so he knows what it takes to get a character like Cable exactly right. We asked him why Brolin was the right man for the job, and he didn't hesitate.

"On one side, his looks. I can totally see him as Cable, visually. On the other side there's his temperament - that's what I think of when i think of Cable. He's got a bad-ass attitude and he's a complex character. We needed somebody with those unbelievable skills to play him in the movie and Brolin is such a layered actor that can play anything and everything."

If the cast is this excited, you can be sure that the fans will be equally as hype when the movie finally hits theaters next year.
