Disneyland Hong Kong Debuts Ant-Man Ride Concept Art

As Star Wars and Marvel begin to make more of an impact on Disney's overall product, so too will they take up more of a footprint on their theme park experiences. While the Star Wars-theme area of the park is set to open in a couple of years, Marvel is set to make their impression felt in a few months when the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout attraction opens.

But apparently, that's not all Marvel fans can expect.

Disneyland Hong Kong already has the Iron Man Experience, a Star Tours-esque ride where people sit in a moving simulator that takes them through battles between the Armored Avenger and his foes.

But now they're apparently working on an Ant-Man ride in the vein of Buzz Lightyear: Astro Blasters. The original ride saw people riding in a spinning cart controlled by the users with light guns to shoot interactive models. The ride would keep score of the riders points tallied, offering bonuses for more difficult targets, and keeping a leaderboard based on the day's best shooters.

The concept art posted by the LA Times seems to indicate that a similar concept will also be employed for the Ant Man ride. But at this point, that could change if the Imagineers decide to take things in a different route.

While the Ant-Man-themed ride and a yet-to-be announced attraction are in the works in Hong Kong, Guardians of the Galaxy: Breakout is set to open May 27 in Anaheim's California Adventure. Expect a lot more about the attraction replacing the Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror in the coming months.
