Superhero films aren't strangers to the Academy Awards. Warner Bros. has earned trophies for franchises like The Dark Knight, but 20th Century Fox won't be beat out. After all, the studio's CEO just said Logan definitely deserves to be nominated for an Academy Award.

During a recent interview with Variety, Stacey Snider opened up the X-Men movie's Oscars shot. When asked if Logan should be in the running, Snider said the film deserves no less.

"Absolutely," Snider said. "The way it combines classic storytelling with superhero lore is brilliant."

There's no guarantee that Logan will score a nomination for the Academy Awards, but Fox is trying to make it happen. Earlier this month, it was announced that an awards screener of Logan had been sent to Academy campaigners.

According to Deadline, Fox has never been so aggressive in its sending of awards screeners. The DVD were sent to voters recently, so fans can look forward to the Oscars nomination event. After all, Logan might find itself amongst other critical contenders.

Logan isn't the only superhero film vying for an Academy Award this year. Warner Bros. has said it would run a campaign to get Wonder Woman nominated for Best Film. The studio previously tried to secure such a nomination for The Dark Knight, but the film failed to secure the Academy's interest.

Logan currently has an 87.61 ComicBook.Com Composite Score, the second highest ComicBook.com Composite Score of any comic book movie. Logan also has a 4.5 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Rating, the highest ComicBook.com User Rating of any comic book movie.
