Marvel's Iron Fist Netflix series has debuted its most extensive trailer yet, but it still left a lot of mystery hanging around the mythical elements involved with Danny Rand's origin story, and his destiny as the Iron Fist.

We already learned during New York Comic-Con 2016 that the mythical temple of K'un-Lun (where Danny trained to be Iron Fist) will be part of the show (Danny name drops it in the latest trailer), but whether or not some of the high fantasy elements of K'un-Lun are going to be part of the show.

One aspect of Iron Fist's origin that we don't yet have confirmed for the Netflix Series (or the Marvel Cinematic Universe for that matter) is Shou-Lao, the dragon who is the power source of K'un-Lun. In Marvel Comics lore, each would-be Iron Fist has had to earn his title by defeating Shou-Lao and absorbing part of his power (which gives them the glowing iron fist power we see Danny using). So will the MCU Netflix series feature a sequence of Danny Rand actor Finn Jones punching a dragon?

The latest Iron Fist trailer features a moment that suggests that Danny has quite a fiery showdown with Shao-Lao. It's a pretty good teaser, and definitely could be our first solid piece of evidence that the mystical dragon is going to be part of Iron Fist's MCU origin.

There has been plenty of suggestion and tease that the martial arts factions of the MCU (The Hand, the Iron Fists) have mystical powers behind them, so Danny fighting some kind of mystical entity in order to win his mystical powers makes sense. It also ties back to the question of whether or not we'll see the classic Iron Fist costume in the show, as those robes are also directly tied to Shao-Lao.

Marvel fans: are you ready for a mystical dragon in the MCU?
