Logan: Patrick Stewart Reveals His Favorite X-Men Memories As Xavier

When you're playing a character for 17 years, let alone one as iconic and involved as Charles Xavier in the X-Men movie universe, you become attached to the role. Saying "goodbye" is never easy in a such a situation but Hugh Jackman will be doing just that when Logan hits theaters next month.

Beside Jackman will be Patrick Stewart, who has played Charles Xavier for the same amount of time across half a dozen movies already. His future with the franchise is unclear, as no definitive ruling has been made regarding whether or not he will reprise the role for another film. That said, the nostalgic feeling offered by Logan's press tour had ComicBook.com wondering what Stewart's favorite memory from his 17-year run as Charles Xavier might have been.

Speaking to Stewart at a Logan press event in New York City, Comicbook.com asked Stewart what his favorite memory from the entire experience has been.

"You know, I have to blend a lot of experiences into one," Stewart said. "It was the ease and the comfort and the warmth of sharing the set with Hugh [Jackman]. When we actually had a history, a 17-year history as characters in a franchise and actors on a set, it meant that so much of what we communicate between us - not the rage, not the fury, not the anger - but, other aspect of it, which already existed and were authentic, I think for both us."

Jackman and Stewart share several intimate scenes in Logan which will offer anyone who is remotely interested in the X-Men franchise a heavily nostalgic feeling. The "ease" and "comfort" which was shared by Stewart and Jackman is very much on display throughout their final joint on-screen efforts as mutant characters.
