Logan: Hugh Jackman Rules Out Any Return As Wolverine

Ahead of Logan's press junket in New York City, ComicBook.com invited one Wolverine Super Fan to attend the event hosted by 20th Century Fox. Countless submissions poured into the ComicBook.com submissions inbox with fans offering up their best impressions of Hugh Jackman's famous X-Men character.

The winner of the Wolverine Super Fan contest was Lucas Ackerman, a man who professes his love for the X-Men character through art work, avidly reading their Marvel Comics titles, and, of course, racing to theaters to watch their new movies. Ackerman flew to New York City to see Logan and interview the Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman.

During the discussion between Ackerman and Jackman, the Wolverine Super Fan made an almost impossible-to-refuse offer to the actor who has played Logan for 17 years now. Ackerman offered up $90 and a $4 T.G.I. Friday's gift card for Jackman to reprise the role of Wolverine at least one more time, even if just a cameo in Deadpool 2.

While it appeared Ackerman almost had Jackman convinced after the gift card came into play, Jackman drove home the point of being finished with the role after Logan.

"I'm out," Jackman said. "Look, I know it's very un-Australian to leave a party while I'm having a great time but at some point, it just feels..."

Logan is, in many ways, a great sendoff for Jackman's portrayal of the X-Men character. There will be more on that in ComicBook.com's review of the film which will surface on Friday but Jackman offered his perspective of why Logan is the best way to end his run while speaking with his Super Fan.

"I thought, 'If I do one more, I have to do the movie that I've felt' and I didn't even know what that was but I just knew there was something within me that I wanted to do," Jackman said. "When we came up with this idea, which I recorded a voice memo of it literally two years before the day we release. Until that moment, I wasn't even sure I'd do this one. Having done this, I just wanted to, for me, what was the most perfect and definitive version of that character."
