Yesterday the world lost Hugh Hefner, who died at age 91, leaving behind an indelible legacy. Hefner's impact as an icon extended into these modern times of geek culture. The Playboy founder even got a shout out in Marvel movies, when Stan Lee played him in Iron Man.

As you can relive in the clip above, Lee got to walk a red carpet with Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark and a couple of hotties, and had viewers cheering with the delightful realization that the Marvel Comics creator was a well-cast fill-in for Hef. From geek icon to sex symbol, Stan Lee can do it all.

As for Hugh Hefner, the world continues to feel the impact of Hefner's passing, with former Playmates and other celebrities all sharing their love of the pioneering publisher and social progression advocate.
