The Defenders Are Ready To Rumble In New Photos

Netflix and Marvel have been releasing more and more from their anticipated Defenders Netflix series, and today fans get a slew of new photos.

The new photos show the team in a variety of situations, including the first meeting between Jessica Jones (who is being interrogated by Misty Knight) and Matt Murdock, who she doesn't ye realize is Daredevil. Also shown is Stick leading the group into some sort of throwdown, though in another photo it seems that Iron Fist and Luke Cage might be having one of their own. It's not all fighting though, as the team can be seen sitting around the table at a restaurant, and Luke Cage and Daredevil seem content as they stake out an unknown location. The Defenders is quite the ensemble, and costume designer Stephanie Maslansky recently talked about bringing all their unique looks together for the series. "It's been interesting, combining all these different characters and their looks together. We've kept them all fairly distinctive throughout each series," Maslansky told Forbes. "They each have their own look and style. They all come together for a common cause, but their worlds are very distinctive from one another. And I'm not allowed to say anything more than that."

The Defenders will bring phase one of the Netflix Marvel universe to a close, and will likely set up the next big phase of the universe. In addition to the core four shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist), the universe will also be adding a Punisher series to its schedule, though no release date has been announced.

The Defenders stars Charlie Cox (Daredevil/Matt Murdock), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Sigourney Weaver (Alexandra), Elodie Yung (Elektra Natchios), Babs Olusanmokun (Sowande), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Rachel Taylor (Trish Walker), Scott Glenn (Stick), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), Debbi Morgan (Delores), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page).

Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, Jessica Jones season 1, and Luke Cage season 1 are all available on Netflix now. Iron Fist will premiere on March 17, 2017. The Defenders expected later in the year. The Punisher does not have a release date yet.
