'Thor: Ragnarok' Director Debunks Runtime Rumor

Thor: Ragnarok is shaping up to be one of the biggest movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn't mean it will be the longest.

That seems unlikely, what with the movie packing in a team up with the Hulk and Doctor Strange, new villains in Cate Blanchett and Jeff Goldblum, the destruction of Asgard, and set up for Avengers: Infinity War. You wouldn't be chastised for thinking its runtime would be comparable to some of the longest Marvel films.

But Taika Waititi is here to set the record straight for the rumormongers spreading false information on social media.

The director of Thor: Ragnarok already went on the record to say the film wouldn't be longer than 100 minutes, which would make it the shortest movie in Marvel Studios history. The Incredible Hulk currently holds the record at 112 minutes, so a 90-minute movie would certainly be its own achievement.

But keep in mind that Waititi is known for his comedic chops. The man in the pineapple romper could be trolling everyone, set to deliver a two-and-a-half hour adaptation of Planet Hulk and Ragnarok. And let's not forget the inevitable mid-credits and post-credits scenes that Marvel Studios has become famous for.

We won't know for sure until Thor: Ragnorok finally debuts in theaters on November 3rd.
