X-Men Gold #1 Introduces A New Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants

X-Men Gold #1 is a return to the group's roots in a variety of ways, but not all of those pertain to the X-Men themselves. You can't have a hero without a villain, and in this case writer Marc Guggenheim introduced more than one.

Spoilers incoming for X-Men Gold #1, so you've been warned.

The new Gold team includes a number of fan favorites, including the return of Kitty Pryde (team leader), Colossus, Storm, Prestige (Rachel Summers), Old Man Logan, and Nightcrawler. As the team attempts to get used to its new surroundings (they are now located in central park) and deal with Terrax of all people, they don't have very long to get adjusted to this new way of life, as later in the issue they are confronted by a new group claiming to be the new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

The group consists of standbys like Avalanche and Pyro alongside Masque, what appears to be Magma and a new reptile looking member. While Pyro and Avalanche are well known, these are likely not the original members, as Pyro has been dead for some time and Avalanche was killed by the Red Skull. The Brotherhood has been a constant in the X-Men's life over the years, with a rotating roster that often included characters like the Blob, Mystique, and Toad, and led at times by Magneto.

Fans will have to wait to find out more in X-Men Gold #2, but you can get a look at the new team in the gallery. X-Men Gold #1 is written by Marc Guggenheim with art by Ardian Syaf. You can find the book's official description below.
