Beauty And The Beast Crosses $1 Billion At Box Office

Disney's live-action hit streak continues with its well received Beauty and the Beast, though calling the film anything but a home run would be sacrilege. The film has continued to bring in substantial box office as it enters it's fourth complete week in theaters, and now the studio is celebrating its latest grand achievement.

Beauty and the Beast just crossed the $1 billion mark, and Disney has released a small compilation video from the worldwide tour to celebrate. Stars Emma Watson, Luke Evans, Dan Stevens, Josh Gad, Emma Thompson, Ian Mckellan, Ewan McGregor, and more were all smiles and sent a big thank you to the fans for supporting the film. Before last count, the film had already earned $435,939,193 million domestically, with a worldwide tally of $986,439,193 million, and the film hasn't even been in theaters a full month yet.

Part of the film's success can be attributed to the chemistry onscreen between the two leads, Watson and Stevens. Stevens recently recalled their first scene together, which is one of the biggest scenes in the film. "I was just delighted when I got to meet Emma," Stevens said. "First of all, we met mostly on the dance floor. We were training to learn the iconic waltz at the center. That's a very good way to get to know a co-star and break down barriers very quickly is to sort of bumble about on a dance floor and hopefully not fall over. And then of course, I had to learn it in stilts, so a lot of trust built there.

Beauty and the Beast currently holds a 73.83 on ComicBook.com's composite rankings, and you can read ComicBook.com's full review here. The official synopsis is located below.
