Benicio Del Toro Teases His Star Wars Episode VIII Character Might Not Be A Villain

Benicio del Toro has been rumored to not only be a part of Star Wars: Episode VIII, but more specifically, playing a villain.
Del Toro confirmed he is in fact involved with Episode VIII while talking to ET at the Toronto International Film Festival but didn't stop there. He elaborated a tiny, little bit about his character, contradicting what's been suspected so far.
"I don't know if he's a villain," teased Del Toro. "People are saying that, but it's like they read a different script than I read."
That statement could mean a few things. First, it could mean that it appears to: Del Toro's Episode VIII character is not a villain. Or - it could be Del Toro is getting in character already seeing as most villains to don't see themselves as bad guys. Then, the third option, of course, is that Del Toro is just successfully trolling us all and getting us to look into his part even more.
"It's nice to keep people in the dark, a little bit of mystery is good," said Del Toro. "If they want to believe it's the villain, then good." Mission accomplished. We're left in the dark.
