Channing Tatum Talks Gambit Costume And More
06/30/2015 09:40 pm EDT
In a new interview with Digital Spy (embedded below), Magic Mike XXL star Channing Tatum talked about his costume for the forthcoming X-Men spinoff film Gambit.
"It's all being worked on at the moment," said Tatum. "I'm from the south, so I know who to go to, to find the accent. I haven't found 'the guy' yet, because that's generally how I do accents is that I'll find the guy who I want to sound like and not just do a generic Cajun accent. So I haven't found the guy yet, but cards are always right there, actually."
Asked about the costume, he said, "That's kind of the fun part -- to massage it. You can't just do it how people think; you want to give it some basic reality. And if you do do it, you want to make it sort of relative to the reality."
You can check out the full interview clip below.
Tatum isn't expected to show up in X-Men: Apocalypse, but it wouldn't be particularly surprising if he did turn out to have at least a cameo. Gambit's own stand-alone film should start shooting as soon as the script is done for a release in October of 2016.
