Deadpool Marketing Goes Super-Meta With "Skull Poop L" Banner

Whether or not Deadpool turns out to be a great movie or not, I think we can all agree that 20th Century Fox's marketing department has done an amazing job selling it.
On Wednesday, Fox unveiled a new billboard for the movie that only used a Skull (meant as Dead) Emoji, Smiling Poop (meant as Poo) Emoji, and the capital letter L to represent the film's title.
At first glance, many people took it to mean "Skull Poop L" and then quickly realized it was for "Deadpool." Well, marketing went super-meta and put out a new banner for "Skull Poop L," which you can see directly below (via Ryan Reynolds). It even borrows The Joker's (Jack Nicholson) dialogue from Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film for a fitting tagline: "WAIT 'TIL YOU GET A LOAD OF ME."
Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand.
Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
