As part of their big preview of Captain America: Civil War, Entertainment Weekly have released some details about a big, widescreen "splash page" battle that sees all of the Avengers squaring off against one another in the upcoming film.

They were on-set as it unfolded, so they had a great view of the action...but of course, some of that action isn't easy to suss out when you're watching people acting against visual effects that don't yet exist.

Here's (a truncated version of) how EW puts it:

Black Widow beats down Ant-Man while Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch attack...something...in the sky (you can't tell what, since the VFX aren't done yet). Iron Man is locked onto Captain America, flying into place and slugging it out with Cap despite some practical issues (the camera was too close for Chris Evans to keep throwing punches without hitting it). The scene, they say, wraps with Iron Man knocking Cap to his knees, "but he won't stay there."

Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016.
