Ernie Hudson To Make A Cameo In Paul Feig's Ghostbusters Reboot

Original Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson (The Crow) has been spotted on the set of Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot.

All of the original Ghostbusters, that are still alive (Harold Ramis passed away in 2014), will appear in the female-led reboot. Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray were previously spotted in Boston filming scenes and on Saturday, Hudson was eyed on the set, too.

In the original films, Hudson played Winston Zeddemore, a common man that was more intrigued by a steady paycheck than the supernatural. Over time his enthusiasm for his job grew and he became genuinely interested in learning as much as he could about the supernatural creatures he and his team members encountered.

Still, his appearance in the film is a bit of surprise. In October 2014, right after the reboot was officially announced, Hudson criticized it by saying, "But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don't think the fans want to see that.." Hudson would later apologize for his negative comments.

The cast includes Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Andy Garcia, Cecily Strong, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Chris Hemsworth and Neil Casey. It's being directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat), based on a script he co-wrote with Katie Dippold.

Ghostbusters is due in theaters July 15, 2016.
