Hunger Games Prequels Would Show Previous Games

And with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, the film franchise inspired by Suzanne Collins' trilogy of young adult novels came to a close…
…Yeah, that's not going to stick. Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns is already comparing The Hunger Games to Harry Potter, saying the franchise will "live on and on and on."
Like the Harry Potter franchise, The Hunger Games films will most likely go the prequel route, telling stories set prior to the rise of Katniss Everdeen, likely focusing on the Hunger Games events that took place prior to the first book and film.
"The one thing that kids say they missed (from the early Hunger Games films) was there was no arenas," Burns said at an investor meeting, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Mockingjay movies focused on the Katniss-led rebellion, doing away with the structure of the Games themselves. "If we went backwards there obviously would be arenas."
With The Hunger Games and Catching Fire covering the 74th and 75th Hunger Games, respectively, fans could be looking at something like 73 prequels. That's a lot of dead teenagers.
