Chris Pratt Shuts Down Popular Jurassic World Theory

When Jurassic World was released in 2015, many viewers thought that Chris Pratt's character, Owen Grady, had been featured in the dino franchise once before. Unfortunately for everyone, the star has officially debunked that theory this week.

The theory stated that Owen was actually the boy from the original Jurassic Park. No, not the one that was in the whole movie. Many believed that he was the kid in the beginning of the film, who didn't show much respect to the raptors that Dr. Grant was describing.

Grant went on to terrify the kid, and he left with a new level of respect for the clever creatures.

While many people thought Owen and the boy were one and the same, Chris Pratt has assured fans that it just isn't the case. During a press tour for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, the actor set the record straight.

"I have heard about that," Pratt told The Huffington Post. "I don't see it as being true.

"It's sweet though. And I love that kid, and I love the idea of that possibility, but I do officially say, as the bastion of Owen's backstory, but not the creator of the character, that's not true. It'd be cooler if it was."

That's definitely disappointing, as the theory had gained some serious validity over the last couple of years. When both Pratt and Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World's director) were asked about the theory in 2015, they skirted around the question.

Enough has to be enough at some point though, and the case is finally closed.

The film is being produced by Belen Atienza, Patrick Crowley, and Frank Marshall, with Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Thomas Tull serving as executive producers.
