Nimona Movie Adaptation In The Works

Fox Animation has acquired the rights to adapt Noelle Stevenson's Nimona comic into a feature film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Nimona began as a web comic and then later it was put all together and published by HarperCollins into a graphic novel, which became a New York Times best-seller. It tells the tale of a young, overly-enthusiastic girl named Nimona that becomes a sidekick to Lord Ballister Blackheart, a not-so-bad supervillain. He teaches his young protégé restraint and tries to keep her from destroying everything with her ability to shapeshift into a dragon, a shark and even a wolf.
The film will be directed by Patrick Osborne, who won an Oscar for his animated short Feast. The script is being written by studio exec-turned-screenwriter Marc Haimes (Kubo and the Two Strings).
