Pixels Glitches With $9.2M Opening Day Premiere

Pixels came a few coins shy of an extra life at the box office yesterday, pulling in a disappointing $9.2 million for its Friday night premiere.
But despite the low-scoring numbers, the Chris Columbus-directed movie was Friday night's top performer, beating Ant-Man's sophomore weekend and Minions alike.
Pixels, starring Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gadd, and Kevin James, tells the story of Atari-era video game characters invading Earth. With Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and more arcade classics tearing the world apart, humanity's only hope lies in a small group of arcade jockeys.
Pixels is out in theaters everywhere now. What did we think of it? Head to ComicBook.com's official review here. And to see what other movies are left for the summer, check out our Franchise Movie Database!
