Star Trek Beyond's Release Date Pushed Back 2 Weeks

Scotty, how soon can you give me Star Trek Beyond? Considerin' we've lost our first director, tossed out a trio of screenwriters and their script, and went through a shut down on production while we searched for a new director and new screenwriters ... ye'd best gi' me two more weeks.
According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Production have announced that Star Trek Beyond will be voyaging into theaters two weeks later than originally scheduled. It will now open on July 22.
Why the move? More problems? Nope! Actually, there is a window in the IMAX schedule where Star Trek Beyond could have the large format venues basically all to themselves. Make it so!
This is the same strategy that Paramount and Skydance employed when they moved the latest Mission: Impossible film from December 2015 to July 2015. It ended up being a very lucrative gamble.
Star Trek Beyond will be the third film in Paramount's rebooted Star Trek film franchise. Beyond is directed by Justin Lin, from from a script by Simon Pegg and Doug Jones. The film features returning stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin. Newcomers to the franchise include Idris Elba, Lydia Wilson, Joe Taslim and Sofia Boutella.
