The IT Trailer Remade With Cat In The Hat Is Somehow More Terrifying

Someone needs to find the person behind YouTube account But Without and give them all of the money in the world because they just did something amazing.

When the trailer for Stephen King's IT finally came out, it had to live up to the legacy of the original miniseries and the buzz it created when it premiered at SXSW.

It had a pretty good response and has racked up tons of views online. Some fans have said that it looks to be an impressive remake that will faithfully adapt the source material, while others felt the clip didn't deliver on the scares—the mood and tone was there, but it just wasn't frightening.

Well, what if you take out Bill Skarsgård and replace that evil clown with Michael Myers?

No, not that Michael Myers. The shagadelic one. The *SCHWING* one. The Cat in the Hat one.

But Without's recut trailer is a horrific reimagining of the new IT preview, recut with footage from the live-action Cat in the Hat film based on the Dr. Seuss children's book.

The video blends footage of the two films, using some deft coloring skills to mute the vibrant hues of the Cat in the Hat to match the tone of the new IT remake.

It also takes some of those horrifying contraptions and puts them in a new context where they're actually the work of nightmares. What results isn't a simple 'parents away, kids will play' cautionary tale, but the manifestation of an unholy terror coming to haunt your childhood memories.

While Doctor Seuss' books remain staples among any child's bookshelf, the live-action films are constant reminders that they can truly exist as nightmare fuel. 

Stephen King's IT will hit theaters September 8.
