WWE: Ric Flair Reacts To John Cena Tying His Championship Record

Turns out to be the man, you don't always have to beat the man. Last night John Cena solidified himself as THE MAN in the WWE and one of the greatest of all time when he tied Ric Flair's record of 16 World Championships.

Those hoping for Flair to come out and cut one of his legendary promos running down Cena's accomplishments were likely disappointed when the Nature Boy reacted to the historic occassion.

Flair spoke with WWE.com and said, "I'm one of John's biggest fans. Not only as a person and a human being, but as a wrestler. He's a great guy, he works incredibly hard, he's had an amazing career."

"He's been the flagship for this company for a long time and if someone is gonna get that record, or tie it, or ultimately break it, I couldn't be happier for John Cena." Adding, "It takes a lot of work and a lot of time to win 16 World titles."
