NEWS 52
This one happens so often, we rarely mention it...but when you have one of the official photos featuring the microphone topper, it's hard to ignore!
And there was quite a bit of News 52 at the start of the episode -- from that interviewer to the news update on the campaign shooting.
AMAZO
Tonight, we headed back to the Amazo.
Aside from the fact that we haven't seen it in a while, there's a bit more to discuss, as ever.
In the comics, Amazo is an evil android created to take on the Justice League by Anthony Ivo, the man who captained the freighter Ollie was just swimming around inside.
Kinda like Red Tornado on last week's Supergirl, since Red Tornado is a hero in the comics, and Amazo is a similar villain.
MS. FAYAD
"Ms. Fayad" gets a name-drop...and sounds alive?
Mina Fayad was the woman who purportedly put the hit out on Andy Diggle, and who was killed earlier this season for trying to have Double Down kill Damien.
FORCE CHOKE
Yeah, it's kind of hard to miss that Damien Darhk tried to force-choke Malcolm Merlyn to death while Merlyn was dressed as Green Arrow.
And, hey! With Mark Hamill on The Flash and a new movie coming out in less than a week (plus all the darkness and light talk on Arrow), it's really pretty Star Wars-y over at The CW this week.
THE GODFATHER?
Here's a thing that's particularly interesting in light of Harrison Wells' revelation that "every earth" has The Godfather:

I think that the scene was a reference to The Godfather Part 1. That cliche of showing the villain doing something that isn't evil, while having his goons kill everyone is something that happens in that film, and is one of its most memorable segments. Aside from that, Darhk makes Oliver let his guard down, as, after proposing, he didn't expect a, let's say Soni (Godfather) type of attemp to his and Felicity's life
