Brooklyn Street Artist Paints Renaissance Masters As Ninjas
07/18/2015 01:55 pm EDT
Artist Owen Dippie is paying tribute to the Renaissance masters Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michaelangelo, but in a humorous way. As a child of the 80's and 90's, Dippies love for both classical art and pop culture is being mixed together on the walls of Brooklyn.
Making a name for himself in Brooklyn, New Zealand-born Dippie combines the characters that share the names over a wall that takes days to accomplish. He doesn't stop with this homage either, as he paints the city up and down with other heroes of his own from Biggie and Tupac to street artist Jean-Michael Basquiat.
Dippie plans on continuing his art to the west coast sometime soon, so be on the look out.
