In a couple years, fans of Adventure Time will move into mourning when the beloved series comes to an end. Earlier this year, Cartoon Network confirmed the series would come to a close in 20018 but that there were still plenty of episodes and miniseries left to air. Now, the network has announced one of those special series will be premiering next year, and it is poised to answer one of the show's biggest questions.

On January 30, Adventure Time: Islands will kick off with the first episode of its eight-part series. The special miniseries will follows Finn the Human as he learns more about his mysterious past. The event is slated to wrap up on Thursday, February 2.

So far, it looks like Adventure Time: Islands is set to answer one of the show's biggest questions: What exactly happened to all the other humans? Fans know the series takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, but Finn has been the only human who's cared to introduce himself to audiences.

Understandably, there are some fans who won't be able to wait for the miniseries to hit cable.
